Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where does the boat depart from?

For St Kilda the boat departs from Eriskay Ferry Terminal. Our wildlife trips and Mingulay trips the boat departs from The Acarsaid on Eriskay (google map Eriskay Floating Dock)

2. Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately in case there are other passengers who are scared or allergic we do not allow dogs on our group bookings. We do allow them on our private tours and we can highly recommend some local dog sitters, if you would like some more info get in touch.

3. How early should I arrive?

We advise arriving 10/15 minutes early.

4. Will I receive a refund if the weather cancels my trip?

Yes you will receive a full refund if your trip is cancelled by us. We process refunds immediately but then can take up to 10 working days to process back into your account.

5. Are there WC facilities available?

Yes the boat has WC facilities but there are none on Mingulay.

7. What is the minimum age allowed?

We do not have a minimum age for wildlife trips as long as you think your child will be ok on the boat. We do recommend a minimum age of at least 4 for Mingulay and 14 for St Kilda.

8. What should I bring?

You can experience all 4 seasons in one day on Uist so make sure you have warm clothing and if you are heading to Mingulay bring some food, sensible footwear to explore the island and warm/waterproof clothing .
